GRADES
COVER GRADES Grade
"M-24" Conforming to IS; 1891 (Part 1)-1988 ;- It is recommended
for heavy duty service conditions where cover has to withstand high resistance
to Cutting, tearing etc, in addition to abrasion resistance. This grade
of belting is recommended for highly abrasive materials such as Metallic
ores (run of mines), Coke, Copper ore (quarried), Stone, Uranium ore,
Rocks etc. Grade "N-17" Conforming to IS; 1891 (Part 1)-1988
;- It is recommended to carry moderately abrasive & non abrasive materials
like Coal, Wood chips, fine ores, Earth, Sand, Ash, ground & unground
Cement, clay etc. Grade "HR" (T 1) Conforming to IS; 1891 (Part
2)-1988 ;- This grade of Belting is recommended for carrying hot coarse
materials upto 125°C & hot fine materials upto 100°C. It has high
abrasion resistance properties & is suit- able for conveying materials
like Hot Clinker, Sinter etc. Grade " SHR" (T 2) Conforming
to IS: 1891 {Part 2)-1988 :- ..., The SHR {T2)grade belting is recommended
for carrying hot materials upto a temp. of 150°C for coarse & 120°C
~ ~ for fines. The Cover Compound has adequate abrasion resistant properties.
GRADE SHR 180 : SHR 180 grade has be developed to meet severe conditions
involving heat & temperatures above 150°C & upto 180°C. It is
composed of special synthetic rubbers compound which has excellent resistance
to abrasion, hardening & cracking. Higher material temperatures will
correspondingly reduce the belt life. GRADE OIL RESISTANT CONFORMING TO
IS 1891 (Part 3)-1988 : It is suitable for conveying materials which leave
residues of fat & oil. Natural Rubber Compounds absorb these residues
and consequently swell considerably rendering them unsuitable. Special
oil resistant com- pounds are used for Mercury Oil resistant grade conveyor
Belts. GRADE "HYGIENIC" CONFORMING TO IS : 1891 (Part 4)-1988
: It is ideal for handling pharmaceuticals, tea, coffee and food products.
It finds its application in canning industries too. The white rubber cover
is specially compounded to be non-toxic, tasteless & odourless to
avoid contamination or flavouring of food conveyed on them. GRADE FIRE-RESIST
ANT : In order to meet the growing need, our R & D wing has been able
to develop the fire resistant grade conveyor belting which conforms to
most arduous & stringent Canadian Bureau of Mines & DIN specifications.
The important features of Mercury Fire resistant grade Conveyor Belting
are (i) Resistance to fire. (ii) Excellent abrasion resistance. (iii)
Resistance to grease & oil. (iv) Improved driveability under wet conditions.
~ COVER THICKNESS : Mercury Conveyor Belts are offered with Cover Thick-
ness ranging from 1.0 mm to 12.0 mm in steps of 0.5 mm for Cover thickness
upto 6 mm & insteps of 1 mm for over 6.0mm.
